Albania – Durrës
The team will fly directly into Durrës and will be hosted at the YWAM base there, a former hotel that has been converted into a YWAM campus so team members will sleep two per room and each room comes with its own bathroom! The daily schedule will vary depending on the size of the team and the types of ministry the team has expressed an interest in as there are many different ministry opportunities within Durres and the surrounding area and each outreach may look a little different depending on what participants would like to do. That being said, regardless of ministry type, each day will be broken down into three general components, ministry time, prep and team time, and rest or personal devotion time.
There is a new project being launched in 2016 in Durrës called “Reaching the Balkans, a Bible for Every Tourist” which will run from July 18th to August 26th. Around 200,000 – 300,000 tourists line the beaches in Durrës for their summer holidays. YWAM Albania has an international team and campus located 900m walking distance from the beach, and their goal is to see teams from local churches in Albania and from abroad come together to evangelize in creative ways using skits, songs, dancing, face painting, music, and sports.
Saturday will be a day off to sightsee, and shop for souvenirs, and Sundays will be joining in with a local church service.
